BRINGING AWARENESS TO PTSD

Our Story

After retiring from a 20-year Navy career; I knew that I had to follow my heart and bring awareness to a disorder that so many are trying to survive with.

My name is Rebekah Gundrum, I served in Iraq in 2011 and was diagnosed with PTSD in 2020, and believe me it was not an easy road to navigate. I saw a mental health counselor weekly and soon discovered that I needed something else to help me be a better leader in the Navy, a better mother to my kids, and a better version of myself that was lost.

“It was time to stop hiding behind my invisible wounds and start embracing my PTSD”

I was tired of surviving; I wanted to live.

MEETING TRIGGER

Through my journey, I was blessed with the gift of a trained Service dog from Northwest Battle Buddies, an organization that provides Veteran’s with Service dogs at no cost to the Veteran.

My dog’s name is Trigger; he was rescued from a shelter and at the time neither of us knew that we were destined to save each other’s life. There is not a day that goes by that I don’t thank God for my dog and what he has done for me and my life.

OUR GOAL

The meaning behind Triggered 22

Triggered is named after my hero, my dog, and the number 22 is to bring awareness to the 22 Veteran’s that commit suicide every day. This number is alarming, but not at all a surprise, and it is my mission to keep the press on and never go silent on helping our Veterans until 22 is zero!

A portion of our proceeds is allocated to organizations such as Northwest Battle Buddies, while also providing essential support to our Veterans within our local community. We remain committed to our passion for raising awareness about the ongoing challenges faced by Veterans, including the struggle with PTSD and Veteran suicide.

DID YOU KNOW….

22 Veterans commit suicide every day.

We won’t stop until that number is zero. By supporting Triggered 22, you’re not only supporting a small business but helping save the lives of those who fought for our freedoms.
